  • Collect leaves in a separate bin and create leaf mould, a dark, crumbly soil conditioner ready in 12-18 months for use across the garden.
  • Leave leaves beneath trees and shrubs undisturbed to decompose naturally, feeding the plants above whilst building soil structure underneath.
  • Add leaves to your compost heap in autumn to balance nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps with carbon-rich brown material.
